Sai Sarva Seva Anna Prasadalagam Inaugurated in Thonugal to Serve Vulnerable Communities

On October 23, 2026, the Sai Sarva Seva Anna Prasadalagam, a community kitchen established through a collaborative initiative between ASSEFA and Sai Sakshatkaram Trust, was inaugurated at the ASSEFA–Annapoorani Temple Campus in Thonugal, Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu. The initiative aims to provide one free meal daily to 100 people in need, including older adults, widows, destitute individuals, people living alone without support, and persons with physical disabilities.

Inauguration Ceremony Emphasises Spirituality and Service

The inauguration was officiated by Guru Naveen Sai and Sri Kumar Loganathan. The programme began with special poojas dedicated to Goddess Annapoorani, followed by a series of homams seeking divine blessings for the initiative's success, sustainability, and continued service to the community.

More than 200 delegates attended the inaugural ceremony, which celebrated the values of unity, compassion, and service. Prayers representing different religious traditions, devotional bhajans, and discussions on the significance of Annadhanam—the offering of food as an act of service—highlighted the participants' shared commitment to serving humanity.

Leaders Highlight the Importance of Annadhanam

Sri Kumar Loganathan introduced ASSEFA and outlined how the organisation integrates spirituality with development to improve the well-being of rural communities. Sri J. Community Feast Marks the Inauguration

The programme concluded with a community feast, where food was served to more than 300 people. The gathering underscored the initiative's commitment to bringing people together through sharing, compassion, and service.

Advancing Compassion Through Daily Meal Services

The establishment of the Sai Sarva Seva Anna Prasadalagam marks a step towards translating compassion, spirituality, and service into practical action. By providing daily meals to vulnerable individuals, the initiative seeks to address a basic human need, uphold their dignity, and strengthen solidarity within the community.

Through the collaboration between ASSEFA and Sai Sakshatkaram Trust, the community kitchen aims to make food assistance a regular expression of care and collective responsibility towards people in need.
