Declaration of Government Commitment
The municipal city of Palu, together with the local parliament, has declared its commitment on 25 February 2025 to support the implementation of an inclusive economy based on the principle of no one left behind.
The Sasakawa Peace Foundation/Japan, in collaboration with the civil society
organization of Sikola Mombine, has supported Palu city in the assessement and the implementation in the next 4 years

The municipal city of Palu, together with the local parliament, has declared its commitment on 25 February 2025 to support the implementation of an inclusive economy based on the principle of no one left behind.
The Sasakawa Peace Foundation/Japan, in collaboration with the civil society
organization of Sikola Mombine, has supported Palu city in the assessement and the implementation in the next 4 years ASEC Indonesia was invited as a panelist in the dissemination of the assessment.
A good model has been assessed as the basis of future project design. Besides
ensuring some policies of inclusive economy in the future, the local government will focus the model on capacity building and promotion of business and access to jobs for people with disabilities by strengthening the business incubator.
Build Back Better After Disaster
The disaster in 1998 in Palu devastated infrastructure, the economy, and the livelihood of people. The women and the PwD become the vulnerable groups and face multiple obstacles and challenges in the recovery processs The assessment recommended the city of Palu adopt the SSE concept in the post-disaster and economic recovery and, at the same time, build community resilience.
The city will become more inclusive and sustainable by creating economic resiliency at all community levels. Palu City is famous for its woven
fabrics, which are mostly made by women. One of the weavers in Palu, Bu Wiwik, has been ready to improve the skills of PWD in weaving and involve them in the production process
Inclusive Deliberation Meeting In Palu
As part of the commitment of the government, the Palu Planning agency has conducted the inclusive deliberation meeting. The meeting was attended by
various vulnerable groups including the person with disabilities.
The meeting was chaired directly by the head of the Palu planning agency and accompanied by the governmental technical agencies and a representative of the local parliament.
